About Us
[Every Finance Calculator] is a US-based company that builds free, accurate financial and tax calculators for everyday questions about money. Our tools help you work out the things that affect your paycheck, your taxes, your benefits, and your shared expenses: how much will I actually take home from this paycheck after federal, state, and city taxes; what is my overtime pay really worth after FICA and withholding; how do I split rent fairly with my roommates; what back pay does the VA owe me on my disability claim.
Every calculator on the site is built with current US tax rates, federal and state law where applicable, and the actual formulas used by the relevant authorities.
What We Build?
We focus on financial calculators that need more than just one input field. The calculators we offer handle multi-layered tax stacks, jurisdiction-specific rules, and the kind of edge cases that simple online tools miss. Whether you are calculating a NYC paycheck across the four-layer federal-state-city-FICA tax stack, working out time and a half pay including federal income tax and FICA withholding, or estimating VA disability back pay across multiple rating changes and COLA adjustments, our tools are built to match the actual underlying calculation rather than approximating it.
The Calculators We Offer
Our current calculator suite includes the following tools, all free to use without signup.
1. NYC Paycheck Calculator
For NYC residents, this calculator computes take-home pay after all four tax layers: federal income tax, FICA, New York State income tax, and the New York City Resident Income Tax. It supports hourly and salaried workers across all filing statuses, with optional pre-tax deductions for 401(k), HSA, FSA, and commuter benefits.
2. Time and a Half Calculator
This tool calculates overtime pay under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act for non-exempt US workers. It supports double time, triple time, and state-specific rules like California’s daily overtime requirement. The output includes federal income tax and FICA estimates for take-home pay.
3. VA Back Pay Calculator
For veterans waiting on a VA disability claim, this calculator estimates retroactive compensation owed. It covers all rating percentages from 10% to 100%, dependent additions for spouse, children, and parents, Special Monthly Compensation levels, and rating changes during the back pay period.
4. Reverse Sales Tax Calculator
This calculator works backward from a total price to derive the pre-tax amount and the sales tax paid. It handles any US state and combined state-plus-local rates, making it useful for expense reports, business accounting, and federal sales tax deduction filings.
5. Split Calculator
For rent, bills, vacations, restaurant tabs, and other shared expenses, this calculator divides costs among multiple people using either even or proportional splitting (by income, room size, or custom weighting).
6. Share Incentive Plan Calculator
This is the only calculator on the site that serves both UK and US users. It estimates returns from a UK Share Incentive Plan (HMRC-approved) or a US Employee Stock Purchase Plan (Section 423), with worked examples for both jurisdictions.
Our Approach to Accuracy
Every calculator on [Every Finance Calculator] is built with current US tax rates and applicable laws as of the most recent rate periods. Federal income tax brackets, FICA wage bases, state and local income tax rates, and VA compensation rates are updated when official rate changes are published. The underlying formulas mirror the calculations used by the IRS, state tax departments, the US Department of Labor, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
That said, every calculator provides an estimate. They are accurate for standard cases but cannot account for every edge case in every personal tax or benefits situation. For high-stakes decisions, complex tax filings, or formal disputes, we recommend cross-checking the output with a CPA, tax attorney, veteran service organization, or the relevant government authority.
Who We Serve?
[Every Finance Calculator] is built primarily for US workers, consumers, and veterans navigating common financial questions. We do not require signups, do not sell user data, and do not lock features behind paywalls. Our calculators are free to use on any device, and we keep the interface simple so the math is the focus rather than the marketing.
The Share Incentive Plan Calculator is the one exception to our US-only focus, since the underlying schemes exist in both the UK and the US.
